Dorset Community Energy expects to launch new share offer in June 2019.

DCE expects to add 700kW of solar photovoltaic panels at ten schools and hospitals, to its current portfolio of 420kW at sixteen schools and community buildings. This will provide an opportunity for you to invest in shares, with an expected interest rate of 5.5% and return on capital investment over 20 years, a local, ethical and carbon friendly investment.

We are working closely with the ten sites to agree terms and expect are awaiting a response to our Low Carbon Dorset Grant application in mid-May.  Results from our February survey, completed by 36 people, indicated that 94% of respondents would consider investing, an average of £2,750, or £100,000 in total.  The share offer will look to raise £445,000 and will be open to the public, all existing newsletter subscribers and those already holding shares in DCE will be invited to invest.

Many thanks to those who took part in our February survey, as a thank you DCE have made a gift to Trees for Life which will fund the planting a tree to restore ancient woodland in Caledonian Forest in the Scottish Highlands.
