We are proud to offer our community the opportunity to become a member of DCE by purchasing membership shares.

Since 2013, Dorset Community Energy (DCE) has celebrated the power of people coming together to tackle the climate crisis from the ground up:

• 28 buildings powered by solar – schools, community centres and hospitals
• Saved nearly 2,000 tonnes of CO₂ (roughly equivalent to the emissions from driving a petrol car five million miles)
• Lowered bills, saving local communities over £850,000
• Raised over £1.1M through community share offers and raised a further £0.5 million in grants
• Installed 1.644Mw of solar PV on Dorset schools and community buildings
• Reinvested in local education and sustainability projects through our community fund, research projects and grants

What is a Membership Share Offer?

This offer allows individuals to support Dorset Community Energy by becoming members of the Society.

• Membership buy-in share purchase: 10 shares (£10)

Ownership of these shares gives you member status and voting rights – helping to shape the future of Dorset Community Energy.

Membership shares are non-withdrawable and non-transferable, however members may convert their membership shares into a full investment when a share offer is live.

Membership Benefits

As a member of Dorset Community Energy, you will:

• Own part of a local, community-run energy organisation
• Have one vote at General Meetings, regardless of how many shares you hold
• Be able to stand for election to the DCE board
• Receive regular updates on our projects and activities
• Help guide the direction of new community energy initiatives
• Be offered first access to invest in future Dorset Community Energy share offers
