Supporting communities across Dorset to take greater control over our local energy systems
Dorset Community Energy is not-for-profit Community Benefit Society. We believe the most effective and lasting change happens when action is rooted in place and shaped by the people it serves. Since our founding in 2013, we have worked across Dorset to turn that belief into practical outcomes – delivering renewable energy projects that cut carbon, reduce costs and reinvest value back into local communities.
We have facilitated over 30 solar installations on local schools, hospitals and community buildings, funded by over two hundred member share holders. Local communities have saved almost 1 million pounds on energy bills and prevented over 2000 tonnes of CO₂.
