We offer free solar panel installation for schools, community buildings and hospitals.
Our community energy model enables local people and organisations to take practical climate action, reduce fuel bills and increase the energy resilience of our county.
DCE has funded 30 solar PV installations of varying size and complexity during its lifespan, focusing primarily on schools, small hospitals and community buildings such as arts centres and village halls.
In total we have installed a combined capacity of 1.64MWp, enough to power 550 UK homes annually and reduce CO₂ by an average of 300 tonnes per year. Our largest installation is over 370kW. We tender local businesses to deliver the installation work and utilise our in-house expertise to manage timelines, assessments and maintain assets.
